The Role:

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our team, where you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of our finance function. Reporting into the UK and EU Financial Controller, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, delivering key balance sheet reconciliations such as PAYE, Payroll and Intercompany, managing the expenses process, producing the rolling cashflow, and being a key point of contact for auditors. Your technical ability, combined with meticulous attention to detail, will be crucial to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable: Oversee the AP Senior Accounts Assistant and the Global Billing Controller on a day-to-day basis, performing reviews of the aged debtors and creditors reports and P&L postings.
  • Cashflow: Produce and have ownership of the 12-week rolling cashflow, finalising the amount allocated for payment runs, and reviewing with the Financial Controller/CFO.
  • Reconciliations: Responsible for completing key control account reconciliations (bank, debtors, creditors, payroll, PAYE, VAT).
  • VAT: Prepare the UK quarterly VAT returns, and the monthly Netherlands ESL returns for submission.
  • Intercompany Accounts: Maintain the intercompany matrix and ensure it reconciles monthly, including posting any required journals and facilitating the clear down of balances.
  • Payments: Review payroll (UK, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Brazil) with the Financial Controller and post payroll journal; manage monthly PAYE and pension payments; approve creditor payments alongside the Financial Controller.
  • Expenses and Credit Cards: Manage the processing and upload of the expenses and credit card transactions, ensuring it is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Audit: Key point of contact on audit queries, supporting the Financial Controller in managing the audit, and posting of any required adjustments.

Ideally, you’ll have/be:

  • An Accountancy Qualification: An ACA/ACCA qualification is essential for the role.
  • Proven Track Record: Previous experience in financial accounting, with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and technical proficiency.
  • Excel Proficiency: Solid intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office tools.
  • A Strong Work Ethic: Ability to manage multiple deadlines and high volumes of work.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • · Team-Oriented & Flexible: A proactive team player who can adapt to changing priorities and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • · Work on Your Own Initiative: Be able to demonstrate the ability to prioritize effectively, work autonomously, and take ownership of duties without constant supervision.
  • ERP Experience: Experience working with ERP systems is desirable, with familiarity in Dynamics 365 being a plus.
  • Attention to detail: have a keen eye for detail particularly when identifying errors, maintaining precise records, and delivering consistent, high-quality results.
